What does it mean to “teach from a biblical worldview?”

We all see the world through a unique lens shaped by our experiences, beliefs, and values. A biblical worldview means using the truth of the Bible to understand the world around us. Christian schools, such as Faith Christian Academy, teach from this perspective, integrating biblical values into every aspect of their programs.

Teaching from a Christian perspective is not just about memorizing verses or studying the Bible as literature. It is about reflecting the character of Christ in the classroom, teaching with both grace and truth. Our teachers go beyond simply imparting information; they strive to guide and inspire students, helping them grow in their faith and knowledge.

Why is a biblical worldview so important?

History, science, fine arts–every subject, every curriculum, and every teacher has a perspective. There is no such thing as neutrality. If a Christian viewpoint is not present, the only option left is a non-Christian one. Not allowing prayer, avoiding “Merry Christmas,” or ignoring God’s role in history are just a few examples of how a supposedly “neutral” viewpoint can portray God as nonexistent or insignificant.

Children are constantly exposed to non-Christian messages through movies, TV, music, social media, and education. We believe schools should help children understand the truth about life, the world, and their place in it–and that truth includes God.

Still questioning if FCA is right for your family?

many Christians have gone to public schools and turned out just fine!

No one can deny this. Yet, parents must ask themselves, “Is today’s permissive culture what I want for my child?” The difference between a public or non-Christian school and a Christian school is not just about the professionalism of the staff or perfection of the students. It is about the focus and goals of the education. These focus and goals strongly influence the school culture.

At a Christian school like FCA, students are loved and guided as they learn from dedicated Christians who share the same Biblical values as their parents. Students learn these values not only in Bible class but also from the examples set by faculty, coaches, and staff members in every school activity. Challenges, conflicts, and circumstances are addressed from a Biblical and Christian perspective.

Shouldn’t Christians be out in the real world, making a difference in non-Christian circles? Why shelter them in a Christian school?

A quality Christian school should never isolate students from the world. That is not the goal of Christian education. Instead, Christian education aims to do the exact opposite: to prepare students to serve their community and make a positive impact for Christ. At Faith Christian Academy, students learn about the world and how to share their faith through experiences like travel opportunities, after-school mentoring programs, and community service.

Isn’t it the role of the parents and their church to teach the Christian worldview?

A Christian school does not replace the role of parents or the church; instead, it partners with them. Christian parents often feel like they are fighting a cultural battle to raise godly children. By expanding their child’s circle of influence to include other godly adults, parents can be more effective. At a Christian school, students learn from teachers and staff who share the same values and beliefs as the parents. Students are also taught what the Bible says through Bible classes and chapel services. It is a partnership that can have a lasting impact on your child.
