philosophy of curriculum
At FCA, we put the academic success of every student first. We aim for a well-rounded education, combining different teaching methods. Technology is integrated into the classroom, but the emphasis remains on learning and teaching, not the technology itself. All our textbooks and extra materials are taught from a Christian worldview. We carefully choose our curriculum through prayer and research, making sure nothing we teach undermines our students’ faith.
what is our curriculum?
Abeka is the primary curriculum used in kindergarten and elementary school. BJU Press provides instruction by adding critical thinking skills. It is the primary curriculum used in middle school and high school. In some cases, the entire course of studies cannot be completed in the 180-day school year. Therefore, some adjustments may be made with approval from administration.
how is technology incorporated?
Teaching technology is a crucial part of preparing students for the future. Kindergarten and elementary students are taught basic computer skills during a special class once a week. Middle school and high school students are also taught computer skills as well as have access to technology during the school day.
